Johann’s career started back in 1974 when he graduated with a BA in Engineering from the University of Pretoria. He worked for various companies over the following 6 years managing construction projects from Aerodomes and Dual Carriageways, to Container Docks and Bridges to the value of $30 million.

Starting his own civil construction company in 1980, he gradually grew the business over 21 years to become one of the most respected and established construction companies in South Africa. After moving to Australia in 2001, he engaged in a number of successful business ventures, one among which has been the Emmaus companies.

Johann has over 30 years experience in planning and managing development and construction projects, ranging from residential, commercial and retail, to infrastructure and industrial. His knowledge of construction technologies, practices and processes allows for a significant contribution in effectively structuring and controlling the performance of each development.

In addition, his business and financial management background allows for scoping effective business case and risk mitigation strategies that fully exploit the opportunities that can be found in combining experience and best practice. It is this careful approach to planning, design and management that secure the goals and expectations of our projects.

Johann is also a member of the Australian Institute of Project Management.
