Every developer that we speak to seems to agree that there is sure to be a land development shortage around the corner. How far away is “the corner”? “Not sure” remains the general consensus, but what we do know is although land development sales are easing off, the latest UDIA figures indicate that there has been an under building of homes in the last 4 years. Housing construction is not keeping up with WA’s population growth.

What does that mean for the average home buyer or property developer? In a state with the strongest economy, lowest unemployment rate and highest population growth in the country, WA remains the pick of the pack. We are seeing a slumpish housing market, but a correction is inevitable. Some will definitely benefit from the present conditions as buyers are set to profit if they invest wisely.
