The latest talk on the town about the "Directions 2031" initiative that is being driven by the Barnett Government and the Planning Minister (John Day), seems to indicate that we will be seeing a lot more infill and rezoning projects taking place within the Perth Metropolitan area over the next few years. According to the Australian Bureau of statistics, we will need an extra 328,000 new dwellings in Perth to accommodate the population growth for this initiative. When however relating this figure back to the Initiative, 154,000 houses will come from infill projects.
